Vancouver Welcomes Canada`s First Gay, Lesbian and Allies Community for the Second Fifty Years

• Canada`s first LGBT and allies community for the second fifty years, to be called RainbowVision Vancouver (RVV), is now accepting community participation deposits.
Mar. 31, 2008 - Canada`s first lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) and allies community for the second fifty years, to be called RainbowVision Vancouver (RVV), is now accepting community participation deposits. RainbowVision Vancouver is the result of a partnership between local group Plum Living Properties and Health Services Inc. and New Mexico (United States) based RainbowVision Properties Inc (RVP).
“The LGBT population in Canada has been waiting for a community like this,” says Dean Malone, President and CEO, Plum Living. “We are excited to be developing a community where the activities, amenities, services and care options are specifically designed to value and respect our diverse lives. For many LGBT baby boomers and our allies, we have enjoyed a certain level of living that we want to continue in to our second fifty years. RainbowVision Vancouver will be the first community of its kind in Canada to meet these expectations.”
Over the last year, Plum Living and RainbowVision have conducted extensive community research, with respondents from across Canada and around the world. There has been considerable support shown for the development of this community in Vancouver. Through extensive survey results, the group is now focusing on identifying the urban Vancouver location. The community is proposed to include independent living owner-occupied condominiums, and assisted living rental residences, with enhanced living services, amenities, and care options that appeal to LGBT and allied baby boomers.
To proceed with the development of RainbowVision Vancouver, community participation deposits, (also considered as priority registration deposits), are now being accepted through Vancity Savings Credit Union, a renowned LGBT community supporter.
