PLANET HOLLYWOOD RESORT & CASINO AND
THE LGBT ACADEMY OF RECORDING ARTS
ANNOUNCE THREE-YEAR PARTNERSHIP WITH OUTMUSIC AWARDS

The 8th Annual OUTMUSIC Awards
Will Rock the Theatre for the Performing Arts at Planet Hollywood

The LGBT Academy of Recording Arts (LARA) and Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino announce an exclusive partnership that will bring the biggest night in LGBT music and entertainment to Las Vegas. The eighth-annual OUTMUSIC Awards will be presented in the Planet Hollywood Theatre for the Performing Arts, Dec. 14 -16, 2012. This spectacular event will create an unforgettable experience that is expected to draw scores of fans.

We are very excited to move the OUTMUSIC Awards to Las Vegas which is one of the top two LGBT travel destinations in the U.S.,” says Diedra Meredith, CEO and Chairwoman of LARA and the OUTMUSIC Foundation.  “This partnership with Planet Hollywood, and its parent company Caesars Entertainment, demonstrates a commitment to and recognition of underrepresented LGBT recording artists’ contributions to music and the entertainment community at large. With this exciting move to the Planet Hollywood Theatre for the Performing Arts, we now have a leveled playing field and are excited to see a new attendance record that brings much needed awareness to LARA and the achievements of so many amazing artists.”

"We look forward to a three-year partnership with the OUTMUSIC Awards at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino," said Richard Brower, director of LGBT marketing for Caesars Entertainment. "As part of our commitment to supporting the LGBT community we value LGBT arts as a way for members to express themselves. We have tremendous respect for the OUTMUSIC Awards and hope this partnership will make the annual music and entertainment event even bigger and better."

Brower added that last year, Caesars Entertainment was the only casino gaming company to receive a perfect rating from the Human Rights Campaign's annual Corporate Equality Index, marking the fifth consecutive year the company has achieved a perfect score. The Corporate Equality Index rates businesses based on lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender workplace policies. “This five-year achievement is a reflection of Caesars commitment to create and facilitate programs and policies that are offered to all of its employees and guests.”

Each year, LARA and the OUTMUSIC Foundation present the annual OUTMUSIC Awards by bringing together top music talent, celebrities, media, creative industry professionals, allies and LGBT consumers for the biggest night in LGBT entertainment.  This nationally recognized event celebrates the best recordings, performers and industry contributions in music each year with a message of inclusion, equality and creative achievements.
